Abstract

Summary. This publication presents the beginning and development of modern hospitals and hospital pharmacies in the Bulgarian lands in the Renaissance, in which patients are served by individuals with special medical education and they are organized on the western model. According to their financing sources hospitals are divided into several groups: government, charitable and private.
