Abstract

Congenital optic disc anomalies are a group of structural malformations of the optic disc and peripapillary zone, which often cause congenital severe visual impairment or blindness. They are colobomas, Morning glory syndrome, aplasia or hypoplasy of the optic nerve, peripapillary staphylomas, megalopapilla, optic nerve pits, myelinated retinal nerve fibres. We present а case report of a 3-year-old boy with two different congenital anomalies of the optic disc – myelinated retinal nerve fibres and Morning glory disc.
