Introduction: Often, with advancing age, hip damage is observed. This damage can be due to several reasons, such as calcification, rheumatoid arthritis and osteonecrosis. As a result, severe pain and limitation of mobility appear. In hip endoprosthesis, the damaged surface of the joint is cleaned and replaced with a metal, ceramic and/or hard plastic prosthesis. The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Nursing care in endoprosthetized patients is a key point in the healing process. They need professional care and personal attitude. Careful monitoring of the operation by the nurse is of great importance both for overcoming the pain syndrome and for the outcome of the treatment and all this leads to an increase in the quality of life.
Objective: To examine patients' views on endoprosthetics and nurses' competence with a view to improving nursing care in service.

Equal is the share for the importance of endoprosthetics and the need for a full life of patients (67%). A large number of patients are of the opinion that they will restore independent mobility after the intervention (83%). The majority of respondents believe that healthcare professionals take sufficient care of them in the postoperative period (67%).
