Introduction: young healthcare professionals make up the future of healthcare. They bring with them an innovative approach and energy. In a situation of crisis in health care, characterized by a shortage of qualified personnel, they face various challenges.
Purpose: the difficulties, faced by young health specialists at the beginning of their careers in providing quality health care, to be explored.
Material and methods: the object of the study is 100 young health professionals at the beginning of their professional career. Used methods are: sociological survey through a direct anonymous survey; statistical processing and graphical interpretation of the obtained results.
Results and discussion: most of the young specialists have in-depth knowledge in all aspects of their profession – obligations, rights, activities and functions, which is a guarantee for the implementation of quality health care. All they have computer skills and work independently with available equipment in patient care. They are more open to innovation and willing to be educated and studied. The difficulties and challenges they face are: unsatisfactory and/or insecure job threat and financial problems; overloading of working volumes; insecurity and lack of experience; emotional stress and mental overload.
Conclusions: young professionals have a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of care. It is necessary to invest in them and provide them with conditions that motivate and support them in the profession. This process requires collaboration between health organizations, academic institutions, and government, as well as a commitment to health system reform.
