Abstract
Physical education and sports and the benefits of their practice are wellknown and sufficiently discussed. This is the reason why sports classes are part of the program of the students of Varna Medical University. The present report aims to analyze the results of tests conducted ( entry and exit level) with students from the Medical University of Varna participating in General Physical Training classes. The students are first year students and are studying various specialties of the Medical University of Varna. The entrance level test was held in the first hour of the winter semester 2022–2023 and include the following timed exercises – squats, sit-ups and push-ups. The same test was conducted at the end of the semester. In this report, the results of the two tests are presented and compared. The need for analysis of the level of physical training was born from the desire for feedback on how the process affects the students. The conducted study establish the level of physical training of the students. The results were used to form conclusions and recommendations for increasing the quality of training in General Physical Training (GPT) exercises.
