Abstract
Тhis year marked 80 years since the birth of Ivan Ivanov – the archaeologist who studied the Varna Chalcolithic necropolis and showed it to the world. On the occasion of this anniversary, a collection titled "To Leave Behind" was published. It contains journalistic texts written by Ivan Ivanov in the period 1992–2001 and published in various Varna newspapers. The texts reflect the personal experiences and observations of their author of everything that happened during the specified period in the public life of the city of Varna. This gives the collection the character of a chronicle of the transition in Bulgaria and Varna from one political and economic system to another, from the 20th to the 21st century, and from the second to the third millennium
