Introduction
Dental fluorosis is among the problems associated with oral and dental health, characterized by an increasing sociomedical significance in different regions of the world.
Aim
The aim of this study is to evaluate the oral and dental health in fluorosis in adolescence in a specific case report.
Materials and Methods
A male patient at the age of 17 with a stable permanent dentition was examined. He had established fluorosis as a consequence of a prolonged excessive intake of fluoridated mineral waters during the period of formation of the permanent teeth. The following diagnostic indices were implemented: index by Dean, DMFT, PLI, GI, PBI, as well as an enquiry.
Conclusion
Fluorosis, and especially its moderate and severe degrees of clinical manifestation, is associated with deterioration of the individual’s oral and dental status in adolescence.
