Abstract
Nurses being an integral part of the operative team have their important place in the prevention of wrong-site surgery events. The informative preparation of the nurses ensure their cooperation and support in the eradication of these critical incidents. In a situation in which there is ambiguity noticed by the nurse, she must do everything possible to clarify the misunderstanding. In some health facilities exist established policies and practices guiding the nurse if disagreement or discrepancy occur between a doctor and a nurse.
