Abstract
A case of anatomical dissection exercises is described. Normally celiac artery, truncus celiacus is the first unpaired branch of the abdominal aorta, aorta abdominalis. It has three basic branches. Splenic artery, a. lienalis s. a. splenica is the greatest branch. It supplies the spleen. Hepatic artery, a. hepatica communis has some branches. Right gastric artery, a. gastrica dextra goes to the the greater curvature, curvatura major of the stomach. Gastroduodenal artery, a. gastroduodenalis devides into supraduodenal artery, a. supraduodenalis (for upper part of duodenum) and right gastro-omental artery, a. gastriomentalis dextra that supplies the greater curvature, curvatura major of the stomach. It joins the left gastro-omental artery, a. gastroomentalis sinistra that is a branch of the splenic artery, a. lienalis and supplies the greater curvature of the stomach. In our case the left gastric artery, a. gastrica sinistra is an independent branch of the abdominal aorta, aorta abdominalis. In the beginning it moves together with the lower diaphragmatic artery, a. phrenica inferior but next it directs to the small curvature, curvatura minor of the stomach and supplies it. Knowledge of the course and branching peculiarities of blood vessels is important for all surgical specialties. Variety in vascular branching can lead to fatal. Death due to incorrect cutting the large blood vessel is not excluded. Describing rare cases in anatomy of the human body contribute to avoid medical errors with fatal consequences.
