The antigenic strukture of 6 strains grippe viruses, type A2, isolated in 1968, and 33 strains, isolated in 1969, was investigated on chick embryos, ThE grippe viruses isolated in 1968, according to antigenic structure, show similarity to the standard and.local strains, isolated in 1964—67. According to their antigenic structure, the grippe viruses, type Ap, isolated in 1969, show comparative homogeneity and properties of a new antigenic variant, similar to the international strain A2XK 1/68, Fart of the viruses isolated, type A2/69, reveal antigenic similarity with grippe viruses A2Vn 2,3/68 and A2Vn783/67. The la tter fact provides sufficient ground to assume that the strain grippe viruses A2/69 have been differentiated in a ll likelihood, by way of continuous alteration of the biological properties and antigenic structure of grippe viruses, type A2.
