Observations are made on series of 46 patients with diabetes mellitus, divided in two groups: without specific for diabetes neurological disorders, and with diabetic neuropathy.
In all the patients, the blood sugar and serum lipids were investigated in the morning before taking meal. In neurological respect, the patients were studied in view of the objective clinical finding in the peripheral-nerve manifestations.
In diabetics with neuropathy, as compared to those without neuropathy, higher values of blood sugar, cholesterol, total lipids and b lipoproteins are observed, and lower values of phospholipids and triglycerides. The differences referred to proved to be statistically unreliable /P>0.1/.
