The author has examined and carried out treatment with psychoforin on 16 patients with aphasia of vascular origin; the patients being in depressive or hypodepressive state. The duration of a treatment course is one month, a psychoforin drug of 25 mgr ms being applied three times a day. The toleration of psychoforin at such a dosage is fairly good. It is proceeded from the assumption that the removed depression could help the recovery of speech disorders. Investigations on patients with established stabilized disorders of the speech functions have been carried out. With 12 of the treated patients improvement of the temper and of the speech disorders has been noted. With 4 of them no changes have been noted whatsoever and no aggravation has been noted at all.
