The authors have examined children ill of rheumatism by modern biochemical indicators. The serum level of the haptoglobins of 151 children has been determined, the children being between 3 and 14 years of age, of which 11 with rheumatism, 14 - problematically ill of rheumatism, 16 - with chronic tonsillitic toxication and 10 - with congenital heart dissease. The investigations are traced back in dynamics, compared with the RUE values, sialic acid and alpha-globulins. In result, increase in the scrum level of haptoglobins has been established as a waluable indicator of rheumaticactivity in the acute phase of the disease (for the character and the gravity of the rheumatic process) and their diagnostic value with certain differential-diagnostic diffuculties has been proved.
