Reference is made to the possibility for retaining cystine by sample concrement solution over ion-exchange resine Dowex 50 in H-form. Elution is performed with 2N NH„. A colored complex is obtained with the aid of a ninhydrin reagent, whose optical density is recorded on Pulfrich photometer. The quantitative determination of cystine is based on a calibrated curve, produced by standard cystine solutions. The ion-exchange resin Dowex 50 displays a good ability of splitting cystine from the salts of sample concrement solutions.
