The activity of amylase in investigated in the blood and pancreas of male albino rats, distributed in two groups - 15 controls and 15 injected with testosterone propionate (total dose 1 mg per kg body weight) - in the course of ten days. The amylase activity in the blood is determined according to Engelhardt-Gerchuk and in the pancreatic homogenate - after Baltzer-Schuster, as modified by Kalitzin. The statistical elaboration of the experimental data reveals a 30% fall in amylase activity in the blood of the injected with testosterone propionate male rats as compared to controls (t=5,20; p<0,001) and a tendency towards reducing the activity of pancreatic amylase (t = 2,34; p=0,02). The experimental data are discussed.
