КЪМ РЕНТГЕНОВАТА ДИАГНОСТИКА НА АНЕВРИЗМАЛНОТО РАЗШИРЕНИЕ НА A. ANONIMA (TRUNCUS BRACHIOCEPHALICUS)

Abstract

After discussing the causes underlying the aneurysmal dilatations of a. anonima and its radiological symptomatology, the author gives a detailed description and analysis of the method applied by him, coined as forced hacking cough, by means of which the shadow of the dilatated a. anonima „disappears`. The stated disappearance of the aneurysmatically dilatated anonima is explained by the author with the alteration of the shooting volume of the left ventricle, respectively the aorta-anonima, and by the persisting maximal expirium, secured by the forced hacking coughing. The method is valuable insofar differential diagnosis is concerned of mediastinal and paramediastinal tumours, retrosternal struma, encapsulated pleurisy and the like, particularly so when the roentgenologist does not dispose of adequate X-ray facilities. Out of a series comprising 22 patients with aneurysmal dilatation of the anonima (accordingly observed), characteristic X-ray signs with a variable degree of manifestation of dilatation of the anonima are illustrated, thus proving the value of the method applied consisting in forced hacking coughing.
