ВЪРХУ КУРАРНОТО ДЕЙСТВИЕ НА КВАТЕРНЕРНИТЕ БАЗИ НА НОВИ АМИНОПРОПАНОЛОВИ ПРОИЗВОДНИ (II съобщение)

Abstract

Amino-propanol derivatives are investigated for curariform activity. The rendered quaternary amino-propanol (3-trimethylamino-propanol iodide) exhibits a manifold superiority insofar muscle relaxant effect is concerned as compared to the two remaining compounds (3-trimethylamino-3-phenyl-l- propanol iodide and 3-trimethyIamino-2-phenyl-l-propanol iodide). An interdependence is found between the chemical structure of these three compounds and their curariform activity and toxicity. The quaternary nitrogen, attached to the straight tricarbon propanol chain, conditions the blocking effect of the myoneural junctions. The phenyl radical at the third carbon reduces the curariform effect of the compound. This effect is more strongly manifested when the phenyl radical is connected to the second carbon of the aliphatic chain. The fact that the muscle-relaxing effect of the rendered quaternary amino-propanol gets potentiated underx the influence of anticholinesterase drugs (nivalin) and adrenalin is interpreted by the authors as a prove that the compound acts in accordance to a polarization, non-concurrent mechanism.
