Data are submitted concerning the structure of the vascular system in the mucosa of the hard palate on the basis of studying 18 grown-up dogs. Various regions are studied in totally removed palatal mucosa with the aid of total cleared preparations and histological sections. Against the background of the investigations carried out it is stressed that the vessels are situated in several groups, forming spacial and layer networks. A layer network is found in the periosteum, composed of minute vessels without definite orientation. They originate from the greater vessels situated in the immediate vicinity to the periosteum. From the latter minute vessels emanate, directed in various directions and creating a spacial network in the submucosa. It gives origin to aditional small vessels, which thereafter form a vascular network, parallel to the epithelial surface. From the latter capillaries originate, which after penetrating into the papillae of the mucosa, where form loops.
