МИКРОФЛОРА ПРИ СИНУИТИ И ОТИТИ

Abstract

The microflora and sensibility to antibiotics is investigated in a series comprising 70 patients with maxillary sinusitis and 30 patients with purulent inflammation of the middle ear (otitis media). Staphylococci and streptococci are isolated in a high percentage of the cases: in sinusites 35.4 per cent staphylococci and 25.6 per cent streptococci, whereas in the otitis cases - 54.8 per cent staphylococci and 16.1 per cent streptococci. The streptococci exhibit a high degree sensibility to vulkamycin and clloroni- tromycin, whereas the staphylococci - to resistomycin, erythromycin and rovamycin. The authors have studied also the sera of 29 patients (27 with sinusitis and 2 with otitis), attempting to establish the presence of agglutinins. High titers are established as regards the isolated staphylococci, streptococci pneumococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae. A similar investigation has not been found in the literature reviewed by the authors.
