The authors’ experience is reported on the surgical treatment of 40 newborn infants with congenital disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, of them with pyloric stenosis - 9, atresia of the oesophagus - 8, atresia of the small intestines - 5, atresia and anomalies of the ano-rectal region - 6, meconial ileus - 4, meconial peritonitis - 1, malrotation - 4, and omphalocele - 4. Twelve children were dismissed from hospital in a good condition. An analysis is made of the incidence of fhe various types of surgical anomalies in newborn infants on the basis of the pathologoanatomical material of the district hospitals in Varna, Turgovishte, Kolarovgrad and Tolbukhin.
