Abstract
This article explores how the integration of formal and informal approaches in foreign language teaching can be achieved using the Moodle platform to create interactive foreign language learning activities. Based on the authors’ hands-on experience in developing online and hybrid EFL courses at tertiary level (NBU), the paper reviews the functionalities of the Моodle platform, the BigBlueButton conferencing tool and two web-based tool, LiveWorksheets and Wordwall, that allow educators to create interactive and multimedia-rich language learning activities. Together, these tools offer a range of possibilities for integrating formal and informal elements in online foreign language courses.
