Abstract

ALCAPA syndrome (abbreviation for Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery), is a rare congenital disease that causes acute myocardial ischemia, and heart failure and death in most pediatric patients. Left untreated, only few of these patients survive until adulthood. We present a case of a 42-year-old female patient admitted in our department with exertional dyspnea and fatigue, paroxysmal tachycardia and moderate mitral regurgitation. She was diagnosed with ALCAPA syndrome and underwent complex surgical treatment.
