Effect of build orientation in SLM on the accuracy of implant-supported prosthetic frameworks

Gabriela Kirova

Abstract

Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is increasingly being introduced in dentistry, providing high precision and predictability in the fabrication of various types of restorations. Selective laser melting (SLM) enables the production of geometrically complex objects through layer-by-layer melting of metal powder. The present study investigates the influence of build orientation in SLM on accuracy, defined by the parameters marginal adaptation and internal fit, in implant-supported prosthetic frameworks.

Keywords
