Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is a minimally invasive procedure for treating painful vertebral compression fractures, often due to osteoporosis or metastatic lesions. Traditionally performed under general anesthesia or monitored anesthesia care (MAC), there is increasing interest in spinal anesthesia as a safe and effective alternative, especially in elderly or medically compromised patients. This review evaluates the current literature on the use, safety profile, efficacy, and perioperative considerations of spinal anesthesia in vertebroplasty surgery.
