In order to clarify the morphological changes in the liver with the various gastrointestinal diseases, the authors systematically study necropsic material - 3158 autopsies and in 242 of them gastrointestinal diseases were found.
The structural changes in the liver with the acute gastrolic diseases include dystrophic and necrobiotic changes, as well as discoplexation of the trabeculae and acute inflammatory alterations. With the chronic diseases of the tract, chronic inflammatory alterations are to be found in the liver, as well as fibrosis and cirrhotic processes.
