The activity of serum cholinesterasis with 477 patients with hepatitis in the acute stage of the disease has been examined.
A parallel to a certain degree between the gravity of the clinical course of (lie epidemic hepatitis and the choiinesterasis`s activity has been established. The latter shows decreased values at the beginning and is inferior in respect to sensitivity lo the transamynasic test. Permanently decreased values might be an indication for reccurences and chronic course of the illness.
The cholinesterasis activity test should be done and considered together with I lie rest of the enzymic and flocculative hepatic tests in the diagnostics of the epidemic hepatitis.
