Study awareness of parents about prevention and treatment of dental caries of temporary teeth in preschool

Introduction: Correction in behavior helps self oral environment and prevent the development of carious lesions. There are methods for non-operative and operative preventive treatment requiring changes to the protocol for the treatment of caries in deciduous teeth.
Objective: Exploring the knowledge of the need for timely treatment and the willingness of parents to participate in the prevention of dental caries in deciduous teeth. Methods: Sociological (questionnaire) method. In the first survey monitored are the parents of children from Varna region. Volume of observation are 100 persons. Units are monitored patients from 3 to 6 years with a need for prevention and treatment of dental caries temporary dentition. Direct individual anonymous questionnaire completed by the parents of patients in dental practices in the city of Varna and clinical halls of Faculty of Dental Medicine-Varna. Registration is carried out in a specially developed questionnaire consisting of 22 questions each with the possibility of more than one answer. Respondents express an opinion on: the diagnosis of caries, oral hygiene habits of the child and all.

And assumed your child fluoride in various forms?, answers we received were that 71.01% responded that children from 3 to 6 years attending dentist and patients using fluorine only in the form of toothpaste containing fluoride. And you assumed your child fluoride in various forms?, answers we received were that 71.84% responded that at the first visit to the dentist their child aged 3 to 6 year only toothpaste with fluoride.
Conclusions: 1. The questioned parents of children 3 to 6 years have satisfactory knowledge and habits in relation to a number of factors affecting oral health of their children and the maintenance of oral hygiene. 2. In case study of knowledge and behavior of the parents toward oral prophylaxis is a need for a new approach to children‘s dentists oriented programming preventive and non-invasive treatment of children according to their individual needs.
