The COVID-19 crisis has challenged the global medical community. Unprecedented epidemiological measures have been introduced, which have influenced and will affect seriously public health, economics, and politics. The World Health Organization has united the global research potential in order to develop the most accurate clinical guidelines and to produce safe and reliable vaccines. Conventional medicine has faced major challenges related to COVID-19, which can be adequately addressed through joint solutions together with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). This has been proven in countries such as China, India, Cuba and others, where national health services have included CAM in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of the COVID-19 infection. Exponentially, the number of the scientific publications on CAM and COVID-19 is rising. The application of integrative medical approaches is imperative in order to manage the expanding pandemic situation and its consequences in the name of human health and well-being.
